Ann L. (Hoban) Andersen, age 76, of East Wakefield, NH, formerly a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away on November 4, 2022, after a brief illness. Ann was the beloved wife of Robert J. Andersen, with whom she celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on October 12, 2022.
Ann was born on February 23, 1946, in Lowell, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of the late Francis “Nifty” and Cecelia (O’Doherty) Hoban. Ann was raised in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School in 1964.
After Ann and Robert were married, they built a house on School Street right next to the home where Ann grew up. There, they raised their three children, Karen, Ann-Marie, and Bob. Ann and Robert lived in Wilmington until retiring and moving to East Wakefield, New Hampshire in 2000.
Ann is survived by her husband Robert, daughter Karen Savage & her husband Andy of Riggins, Idaho, daughter Ann-Marie von Sneidern & her husband Kurt of North Andover, and son Robert S. Andersen & his wife Heather of Wilmington.
Ann was “Grammy” to Billy, Ashley, Morgan, Caroline, Emma, Savannah, Sarah, and Jack. She was “Great-Grammy” to Lilliana and Zoe. Ann was a dear sister of Kathleen “Kay” Scanlon, Richard Hoban and the late Sheila Harrington and Francis Hoban. Ann is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Avenue (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Wednesday, November 9th between the hours of 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held in Wildwood Cemetery, 233 Middlesex Avenue, Wilmington on Thursday, November 10th at 11:00 a.m.
