Ann F. (Fiske) Whitney

Ann F. Whitney, (Fiske), age 85, a life-long resident of Wilmington, passed away on October 23, 2022.    

Ann was born on August 28, 1937, in Malden, MA; she was the cherished daughter of the late Edwin L. and Dorothy S. (Corkum) Fiske.  Ann was raised in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School.    

Ann raised her two children Lisa and David in Wilmington. She was a devoted mother and loved spending time with all her family.  Ann was thrilled to become a “Grammy” to her five grandchildren; she adored them all and loved spending time with them.   

Ann held many jobs in Wilmington, including Birch Super Drug, JC Penney Catalog, and Wilmington Town Hall. At each of these jobs, she always welcomed everyone with a big smile and a friendly hello.  

Ann was a social butterfly, she loved meeting her friends at Papa Gino's or Donna's Donuts.  She also enjoyed planning her class reunion picnics with her high school classmates.  She was active in The Wilmington Spotlighters theater group and The Wilmington Methodist Church.  

Ann will be remembered for her love of Wilmington; she was always proud to live, work, and raise her family in Wilmington.  Ann looked forward to the events the town had to offer such as parades, the Fourth of July Festivities, and above all, the friendships she had with the people.    

Ann was the devoted mother of Lisa Monteforte & her husband Greg of Bridgton, ME, formerly of Wilmington and David Whitney, loving “Grammy” of Michael & Theresa, Sara & Leigh, Nicholas & Allyson, Christopher & Corey, and Emily & Ryan, dear sister of William Fiske and Patricia Breslin & her husband Frank.  Ann is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Lynne Whitney, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.  
 
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Thursday, October 27th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.  A Funeral Service will be held at the Wilmington United Methodist Church, 87 Church Street, Wilmington, on Friday, October 28th at 11:00 a.m.    

Memorial donations in Ann’s name may be made to the Wilmington United Methodist Church, 87 Church Street, Wilmington, MA  01887.
