Anthony R. Alessi

Anthony R. Alessi, age 75, of Wakefield, formerly of Stoneham and Tewksbury, passed away on October 6, 2023.

Anthony was born on July 20, 1948, in Boston, MA; he was the cherished son of the late Andrew A. and Josephine R. (Mele) Alessi.  Anthony was raised and educated in the North End of Boston.

Anthony met Ruth (Rice) Alessi in the early 1970’s; they were married on April 30, 1972.  Anthony and Ruth lived in the suburbs of Boston, where they raised their two daughters, Paula, and Roberta.

Anthony worked as an electrical engineer for his entire career; he worked for Tyco electronics, and the Wang company.  After he retired, Anthony continued working as a consultant for several companies.  His vast knowledge of electronics kept him busy throughout his career.

Family was most important to Anthony; he was a wonderful husband and father.  Anthony was a great provider and care giver to Ruth who was very ill before her passing.

Anthony was the beloved husband of the late Ruth (Rice) Alessi, devoted father of Paula J. Avila and Roberta M. Alessi both of Petersham, loving “Gampy” of Callie M. Avila and Emily M. Avila, dear brother of Andrew Alessi, Mary Russo, Joseph Alessi, John Alessi, and David Alessi.  Anthony is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Sunday, October 15th, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. concluding with a Prayer Service at 12:30 p.m.
