Atkins, John W. Jr.

John W. Atkins, Jr., of Wilmington, formerly of Brighton, died Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington; he was 86 years old.

John was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Harrison) Atkins. Loving father of Linda DeCost & her husband Norman of North Carolina and Sandra Atkins of Wilmington. Devoted grandfather of Suzette DeCost of North Carolina, son of the late John W., Sr. & Helen A. (Welch) Atkins, dear brother of Ruthie Brown, Dorothy Pryor, Helen Burke, all of Dorchester, and the late Leo Atkins and Barbara Willcott, uncle of Barbara Anne Daddario of Chelmsford, also survived by his extended family Noreen Pinkston and Rita & Frank Ramsdell all of Wilmington, and his friend Jack McEachern of Tewksbury.

Relatives and friends gathered at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Monday, November 26th for visiting hours and a Funeral Service. Interment took place in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Memorial donations in John's name may be made to the North East Animal Shelter, 204 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970.
