Barysky, Peter Obituary

Peter P. Barysky, age 78, of Wilmington, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at his home. Born July 12, 1929, in Galicia, Poland, he was the son of the late Theodore and Zenia Barysky.

Mr. Barysky immigrated to the United States as a youngster and became a United States Citizen. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After returning from the war, Peter met Mary P. Castronovo and they were married in 1956. They moved to Wilmington in 1965 and began a family.

Being a religious man, Peter was a faithful member of St. Dorothy's Parish, which was very important part of his life. Prior to retiring, Peter was a manager for the NECCO Candy Company in Cambridge for many years. In his spare time his hobbies included reading, word puzzles, he loved his flower garden, and he enjoyed fishing and basketball. Most import to Peter was his family, he was a devoted husband of 51 years, a beloved father and a loving grandfather, his family will miss him dearly.

Peter is survived by his wife Mary P. (Castronovo) Barysky, his three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia M. Ritchie & her husband Steven of Lawrence, Marie J. Mason & her husband William of Wilmington, and Deborah A. Moussalem & her husband Charlie of Methuen, he was the loving grandfather of Peter, Patrick, & Philip Ritchie, Olivia Mason, Gregory Barysky, and Ava Moussalem, and he is also survived by many nieces & nephews.

His funeral was held from the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Saturday, September 15, at 10:00 followed by an Funeral Mass at St. Dorothy's Church, which was celebrated by Fr. Kevin Horrigan. Interment took place in Wildwood Cemetery.
