Pauline E. (Cail) Bertwell, age 77, of Wilmington, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at the Winchester Hospital.
Born in Belmont, MA, on August 12, 1931, Pauline was the daughter of the late Bonard & Lena M. (Greenough) Cail. Pauline moved with her family to Wilmington in 1938, she attended Wilmington Public Schools and was a graduate of Wilmington High School Class of 1949. She married Robert W. Bertwell on November 11, 1950, celebrating over 58 years of marriage.
Robert & Pauline were members of the Klaxon Antique Car Club for over 40 years. Pauline will be fondly remembered as a beautiful woman inside and out, very sweet, caring, and always a lady. She enjoyed sitting pool side in the sun, shopping, she loved children, especially babies and the color pink.
Pauline was the beloved wife of Robert W. Bertwell, devoted mother of Nancy D. (Bertwell) Clancy & her husband James H. III and William L. Bertwell & his wife Mary all of Wilmington, loving grandmother of Eric Frost & his wife Natalia, Adam Frost & his wife Donandrea, Elysha Clancy & James Clancy IV, great-grandchildren MacKinnon & Sophia Frost, dear sister of the late Ken and Donald Cail. Pauline is also survived by her beloved dog Molly.
Visiting hours will be held at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Saturday, March 21st from 1-4 p.m. Immediately followed by a Funeral Home Service at 4:00 p.m.
