Blanche Peck Obituary

Blanche M. (Smith) Peck, age 78, of Wilmington, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 4, 2023. 

Blanche was born on June 23, 1944, in Boston, MA; she was the cherished daughter of the late Kenneth and Ellen (Lydeard) Smith. Blanche was raised in the Berkshires and graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Pittsfield, MA. 

Blanche met her husband and the love of her life Thomas F. Peck and the couple was married on April 5, 1964, married for 58 years. They moved to Wilmington, where they raised their three children, Cheryl, Suzanne, and Thomas, Jr. Blanche was delighted to become a "Mimi" to her 8 wonderful grandchildren.

Blanche worked as a banquet manager for many years; she worked at the Ramada Inn and the Sheraton Hotel for 35 years. Blanche loved her job and loved the people she worked with.

In her spare time, Blanche loved to have a good time; she enjoyed knitting, drawing, crafts, visiting casinos, dancing, and shopping. 

Blanche loved the holidays, baking for her family, and attending family gatherings. Blanche adored her family and made every member feel special.

Blanche will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and dog mom to Georgia. 

Blanche was the beloved wife of Thomas F. Peck, devoted mother of Cheryl Schiffman & her husband Cary of Hudson, NH, Suzanne Burns & her husband Bill of Mystic, CT, and Thomas Peck, Jr. of Wilmington, loving "Mimi" of Alyssa Crouch & her husband James, Eddie Peterson, Justin DiRienzo, Christopher DiRienzo, Will Burns, Ellie Burns, Janie Burns, and her beloved late granddaughter Hannah Burns, step-grandmother of Maxwell Ross-Schiffman, "Great-Meep Meep" of Hazel and Maxwell Crouch, cherished daughter of the late Kenneth and Ellen (Lydeard) Smith, dear sister of Christine Twohig & her partner Robert D'Amore and Diane Teto & her late husband Harold. Blanche is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. 

Family and friends will gather for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Barbara's Church, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn, on Saturday, January 21st at 10:00 a.m.
