Brown, Dorothy Obituary

Dorothy Elizabeth (Moore) Brown, of Wilmington, who was fondly known as “Gram” to her family and friends, died Thursday, October 16, 2008, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her family, at the age of 89.

Dorothy was born on February 18, 1919, in Boston, MA, she was the dear daughter of the late Samuel & Grace (Poore) Moore. She grew up in East Boston and Medford, and has resided in Wilmington since 1953. Dorothy was very devoted to her family and was a wonderful homemaker. In her spare time she loved to do ceramics and was a talented cake decorator.

Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late John C. Brown, Sr., devoted mother of John C. Brown, Jr. & his wife Penny of Kissimmee, FL, Geraldine E. Ross of Salem, NH, Stephen D. Brown & his wife Phyllis of Chichester, NH, and David L. Brown & his wife Susan of Sugar Hill, NH, loving Gram of 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, sister of Robert Moore of Maine and the late Samuel Moore, James Moore, Alma Robbins, Virginia Moore, and Katherine Trefrey, also survived by many nieces & nephews.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 20th at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in the family lot at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours Sunday, October 19th from 4 – 7 p.m. Memorial donations in Dorothy’s name may be made to VNA-Hospice, 100 Sylvan Road, Suite 500, Woburn, MA 01801. WE LOVE YOU GRAM!
