Cheryl Donahue Obituary

Cheryl Ann (MacKinnon) Donahue, age 42, of Lowell, formerly of Wilmington, died Tuesday, January 9, at the Saints Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.

Cheryl was born October 14, 1964, in Woburn, MA, she was the beloved daughter of Daniel J. MacKinnon, Sr., of Lakeland, FL, and Brenda L. (Shrier) Carr of Wilmington. Cheryl grew up in Wilmington, and attended the Wilmington High School. She moved to Lowell approximately 20 years ago. Cheryl was the kind of person who was always helping others, she was known as the “mother hen” to her friends because she was always there for them and watched over them. Cheryl loved her family dearly, they meant everything to her and they will miss her greatly.

Cheryl was the loving wife of Michael Donahue of Lowell, with whom she had just celebrated their 20th Wedding Anniversary this past September, she was the devoted mother of Kristy A. Donahue and Tanya L. Donahue, both of Lowell, dear sister of John MacKinnon and his wife Shirley of Troy, NH, Mark MacKinnon of Wilmington, and the late Daniel J. MacKinnon, Jr, loving grandmother of Christian Maldonado of Lowell, step-daughter of Nancy MacKinnon of Lakeland, FL, and Roy Carr of Wilmington, daughter-in-law of Dottie Devlin of Albuquerque, NM, sister-in-law of Susan Borrow of Dallas, TX, Mark and Tom Donahue both of Albuquerque, NM, aunt of Heather, Janelle, Ryan, Taylor, Matt, Jake, Dana, Kaitlyn, Shane, Alexandria, and Miles, special cousin of Robert, LeeAnn, Karen, Janice, and MaryAnn, Cheryl is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January, January 16, at 11:00 a.m. at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington. Interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, January 14, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
