Clancy, Kevin Obituary

Kevin W. Clancy, age 52, of Wilmington, died Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at the Brigham & Woman's Hospital in Boston, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Kevin was born on December 23, 1955, in Somerville, MA. He was the beloved son of Walter H. & Gloria M. (DeMaio) Clancy of Wilmington, formerly of Watertown. Kevin grew up in Watertown and he graduated from Watertown High School.

He moved to Wilmington in the late 1970’s and became very involved with the children's sports programs. Kevin coached Wilmington Little League Baseball and Wilmington Pop Warner for many years. He was also a member of the Fr. Croke Council Knights of Columbus in Wilmington and in his spare time was active in a bowling league in North Reading. Kevin was very devoted to his children and his family and they will miss him dearly.

Several years ago Kevin moved to Kissimme, FL, and was employed at Ginn & Company Land Developers. He returned to Wilmington last year and took a position with Bank of America – Mellon Trust as an Information Technologist.

Besides his parents, Kevin is survived by his children Eric D. Clancy and Adam R. Clancy of Somerville and Ryan J. Clancy of Virginia, all formerly of Wilmington, and Madison-Lee Clancy of Kissimmee, FL; his brothers & sister Steven Clancy & his wife Paula of Franklin, TN, Glenn Clancy & his wife Kathryn of Quincy, MA, and Lynn C. Liscio & her husband Ed of Surprise, AZ. Kevin was also the former husband of Kimberly (Erikson) Clancy of Kissimmee, FL, and the late Donna (Denaro) Clancy. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, a nephew, cousins, and many friends.

Kevin's funeral service will be held from the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Monday morning, March 3rd at 9:00 followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, at 10:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, March 2nd from 4-8 p.m.

Memorial donations in Kevin's name may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney Street, Boston, MA 02215.
