Daniel Joseph McCarthy

Daniel J. McCarthy, “Danny”, age 64, of Concord NH, formerly of Medford, Wilmington, and Revere, passed away on January 29, 2023.

Danny was born on July 13, 1958, in Medford, MA; he was the son of the late James A. and Mary M. (MacDougall) McCarthy.  Danny attended Medford High School before entering the US Navy, where he became an accomplished Jet engineer.

Danny went on to work for General Electric Aviation. He also worked for many years in the fire suppression industry.

Danny enjoyed many good memories with family and friends including summer trips with his sons to Cape Breton Island. He loved watching his children play sports, driving his boat, and riding his motorcycle. In later years, he treasured spending his time with his grandson, Shayne, and his faithful dog, Daisy. 

Danny was the father of Connor J. McCarthy and fiancé Shannon of Revere, MA and Liam P. McCarthy and girlfriend Alexa of Revere, MA, grandfather of Shayne R. McCarthy of Revere, brother of Catherine Lawson and her late husband William of Dracut, MA, Ronald McCarthy and his wife Margie of West Lake Ainslie, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Janice Jordan and her late husband Edward (Teddy) of Concord, NH, James McCarthy Jr. of Fort Myers, FL and Geraldine Wilcox of Bedford, MA.  Danny was also survived by 30 loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Monday, February 6th from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  A Graveside Service will be held in Wildwood Cemetery, 233 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington on Tuesday, February 7th at 11:00 a.m.
