Donald Boudreau Obituary

Donald E. Boudreau, "Don", age 81, a long-time resident of Wilmington, formerly of Stoneham, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2022.

Don was born in Stoneham, MA, on April 10, 1941; he was the cherished son of the late Frederick and Marjorie Boudreau.  Don was raised and educated in Stoneham and a graduate of Stoneham High School with the Class of 1959.

Don married the "love of his life" Rita A. Harrington in 1963; the couple moved to Wilmington in 1965 where they had their home built and raised their children.  Family was everything to Don; he worked hard to provide for his family but also treasured the time they spent together, they made many wonderful memories and always had a great time whatever they were doing. Don loved the outdoors; in his early years he enjoyed skiing, he liked to "putter" around the yard, be out and about in his boat and went fishing every chance he got.  Don looked forward to heading up north to Casco, Maine, where he built "Camp" on Thompson Lake; this was, and still is, most definitely their "Happy Place" where the door is always open and family and friends gather.

Prior to retiring, Don, worked for many years as a Sheet Metal Mechanic for Harrington Brothers, Inc., the family business.  Don worked along side his brother-in-laws and his father-in-law who was also the founder of the company; together they all had a great work ethic, treated their customer's well and took pride in their jobs.  Don led by example and was a mentor to many co-workers throughout the years.  These were all attributes that made Don quite successful.

Don will be forever and fondly remembered as a "great guy", a wonderful family man, a good neighbor and a true friend to many.  Don considered himself lucky to be surrounded by such a wonderful family and so many great friends.  Don touched the hearts of all who knew him and he will forever be missed.

Don was the beloved husband of Rita A. Boudreau (Harrington), devoted father of Monique Yandell & her husband Richard of Hiram, ME, David Boudreau & his wife Rhonda and Bob Boudreau & his wife Shelagh all of Tewksbury.  Loving grandfather of Marjorie Gross & her husband Zachary, Matthew Yandell & his fiancé Tansy Sanborn, Daniel Boudreau & his wife Stephanie, Tyler, Andrew and Sarah Boudreau, Megan, Rebecca and Jillian Boudreau as well as his great-grandchildren Carter Ann, Oaklyn and Bailey. Cherished son of the late Frederick and Marjorie (Logan) Boudreau, dear brother of the late Diane Treacy.  Don is also survived by many special brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and their families.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Sunday, July 17th from 12:00-4:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, July 18th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, MA.  Interment will follow in Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham, MA.
