Earl J. L’Esperance

Mr. Earl J. L'Esperance, 62, of Dunnellon, FL, formerly of Wilmington, died Friday, January 12, at the Citris County Memorial Hospital in Iverness, Florida. Earl was born January 22, 1944, in Malden, MA, he was the son of the late Earl J., Sr. & Maddalena (Zammuto) L'Esperance. Earl grew up in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement, Earl, was the Assistant Superintendent of the Public Buildings Department for the Town of Wilmington for many years. He was a member of the Sons of Italy, in his spare time Earl loved fishing and boating. He moved to Florida in 2002.

Earl was the beloved husband of Sherrill (Pote) L'Esperance. devoted father of Craig L'Esperance and his wife Jeri of Bedford and Julie Hamilton and her husband Douglas of No. Andover, loving grandfather of Stephanie, Jessica, Kimberley, Samantha, and Matthew, dear brother of Anthony Lesperance and his wife Susan and William L'Esperance all of Wilmington, son-in-law of Dorothy Pote of Symrna, TN, brother-in-law of Tom and Marie Pote of Wilmington, and Melinda and Jon Scarlett of Symrna, TN, he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours were held at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Thursday, from 10 – 12 a.m. Immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 noon. Interment took place in Wildwood Cemetery.
