Edward Thomas Hunt Jr, born on November 28, 1963, in Lynn, MA, passed away on March 25, 2024, at the age of 60 in Burlington, MA after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Known to his friends and family as Eddie, he was a special soul with a quick wit and a love for life. Ed cherished his Red Sox, The Grateful Dead, and Bluegrass music. He found joy in camping, attending music festivals, and pursuing his passion for photography. In his youth, Ed followed The Grateful Dead across the Eastern United States, forming lifelong friendships and making unforgettable memories along the way.
Professionally, Ed excelled as a tractor-trailer driver. He took pride in his work, especially during his time as a Tractor Trailer operator for the United States Postal Service in North Reading, MA. Additionally, Ed contributed to Union activities and served as a driver trainer for Gulf Oil/Cumberland Farms, transporting gasoline throughout New England.
Beyond his career, Ed enjoyed various hobbies, from boating and fishing to exploring photography and computers. His diverse interests reflected his vibrant personality and zest for life.
Ed is survived by his sister Melanie Hunt of Lynn, brother Phillip Hunt of Danvers, sister Casey Hunt of Chicopee, and stepmother Joann Hunt Murphy of Saugus MA, as well as numerous aunts and uncles and cousins.
A celebration of Ed's life will be held at the Hibernian Hall in Lynn, MA, on Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friends and loved ones are invited to share memories, stories, and good times in honor of Ed.
