Eileen Pacheco Obituary

Eileen Mary Pacheco (McManus), age 81, of Haverhill, formerly a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away peacefully in her home on December 14, 2022.

Eileen was born on April 29, 1941, in Cambridge, MA.  She was the beloved daughter of the late Raymond and Grace (Brogan) McManus.  Eileen was raised in Cambridge and was a graduate of Cambridge High School, class of 1959.

Eileen married James Anthony Pacheco in 1960.  They moved to Wilmington in 1967, where they raised their three daughters.  Eileen was an incredible daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.  She was extremely devoted to all of her family, and they were her world.  Eileen treasured "her girls" Darleen, Linda and Michelle, and her grandchildren Davey, Ben and Trina, as well as her extended family and friends. She had a profound impact on everyone’s life she touched.  Her kindness and thoughtfulness had no bounds.

Her family was extremely close.  She treasured the time they spent together.  From the holidays and many celebrations, Eileen made every occasion extremely memorable with her special touches!  The times on Kirk Street with her family, neighbors and friends were some of her fondest memories.  Whether it was in the yard by the pool or in the “toy room”, “parlor” or kitchen, she created laughter and fun in her home for her daughters, their friends, and whoever was fortunate enough to be a part of her life.

Her role as "Nunny” was her greatest joy.  Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she lit up when she was in their presence.  They were truly the celebrities in her life.  Her dedication and devotion to them created a bond like no other.  Her grandchildren worshiped their “Nunny” and loved her beyond words.  She taught us all how to worship God and to be moral and kind people.

Whether she was doing a house project, volunteering at the schools and teaching CCD, or working in customer service at the bank or Harvest Gift Shop, Eileen worked hard and strived to make others feel comfortable and special.  She greatly loved reading, shopping and decorating.  She was truly "one of a kind" and will forever in our hearts.

Eileen was the former wife and friend of the late James Pacheco.  Eileen was the devoted mother of Darleen Leroux of Tewksbury, Linda McEwen of Wilmington, and Michelle Catena and her husband Scott of Haverhill.  She was the beloved "Nunny" of David Leroux III and his wife Courtney, Benjamin McEwen and Trina-Marie Catena.  Eileen was the dear sister of Bryan McManus and his wife Leslie of Maine, the late Raymond McManus and his wife Dolores of South Carolina, the late James McManus and his wife Donna of Maine, and the late Catherine McManus.  She was the Special Aunt of Elizabeth and her husband Dennis Nickerson and their daughter Kyleigh Borden.  She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Monday, December 19th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA, at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA.  Visiting Hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday, December 18th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
