Elaine Marie (Sheridan) Hupp

Elaine Marie (Sheridan) Hupp passed away on September 1, 2022 in Danvers, Massachusetts, of complications from cancer at the age of 74.

Elaine was a devoted mother, aunt, sister, friend and — most recently — a delighted Nana. Elaine was fiercely proud of her Irish heritage. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate a holiday in style. Her smile and laugh were trademarks of Elaine’s joy and ability to appreciate the small pleasures in life. Her generosity and kindness to others will be remembered most. 

Elaine was the oldest of 6 siblings born and raised in Cambridge, Ma. She was a graduate of Cambridge Latin School. Elaine traveled extensively across the US and lived abroad in Europe on more than one occasion. 

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Ann (Murphy) Sheridan and Richard Sheridan Sr.; her sister Phyliss (Sheridan) Cecchini; her brother Richard Sheridan II and her first grandson Simon James Peterson.

Elaine is survived by her brothers Stephen Sheridan of Valrico, FL, Edward Sheridan of Wilmington, MA and her sister Judy Sheridan of Enfield, CT and her children Eric Hupp and Shawn Hupp of Lynn, Massachusetts; Kelly (Hupp) Spangler and her husband Tim of San Diego, California; and Kasey (Hupp) Peterson and her husband Brandon and their second son Damian Peterson of Foley, Alabama. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews whom she adored.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 8th from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm at Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte.62), Wilmington, MA. A graveside service will be held at Wildwood Cemetery, 1 Wildwood Street, Wilmington, MA on Friday, September 9th at 11:00 am.
