Frackleton, “Jim” Obituary

John, J. "Jim" Frackleton, age 60, of Wilmington, died Saturday, December 8, 2007, at home surrounded by his family. John was born December 12, 1946, in Everett, MA; he was the loving son of Helen M. (Bonner) Shea of Wilmington and the late John J. "Jack" Frackleton. John grew up in Everett and was educated there. He also attended Franklin Institute and North Eastern University in Boston, where he received his Bachelor's Degree.

At the time of his death he had been employed as a Mechanical Engineer for Instrumentation Laboratory in Lexington for 28 years. John served his country for 30 years in the U. S. Coast Guard Reserves, where he retired last year ranked as a CWO4.

John was a resident of Wilmington for the past 25 years, where he was a good friend and neighbor to many. In his spare time John loved water skiing, boating, and snow skiing. He and his son Jimmy enjoyed their ski trip to Switzerland in 2003 and he enjoyed traveling to the National Parks including Yosemite, Yellowstone, and the Grand Canyon. He was especially fond of his trips to Mousam Lake in Shapleigh, ME, where he spent time as a boy, he fell in love with the area and spent many good times there with family and friends throughout his lifetime.

John was the beloved husband of Sandra A. (Monaco) Frackleton and they were married for almost 25 years. He was the devoted father of James J., Colleen C., and Michelle M. Frackleton, all of Wilmington, dear brother of Patricia Frackleton of Melrose, Joan Girolamo of Medford, Michael Frackleton of Georgetown, Marianne Raymond of Londonderry, NH, Joseph Frackleton of Hamilton, Kathleen Zuckerman of Andover, the late Paul Frackleton, and step-brother Eddie Shea of Tewksbury. John is also survived by many aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His Funeral will be held from the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Thursday, December 13th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations in John's name may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, ALS Research, 275 Turnpike St., Suite 201, Canton, MA 02021.
