Mr. Harry G. Fishburne, age 94, of Wilmington, died Thursday, February 8, 2007, at Woodbriar of Wilmington. Mr. Fishburne was born September 3, 1912, in Somerville, MA, he was the son of the late James and Florence (Armstrong) Fishburne. Harry was raised in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School. He lived in Medford, MA, from 1952 until 1969, when he moved to Wilmington and resided there until his death. Prior to retirement, Harry was employed as a machinist for General Electric Company in Lynn and Everett for over 30 years. Harry was a member of the Masons Friendship Lodge AF & AM in Wilmington, an active member of the Shriner's Allepo Temple in Wilmington, and the Wilmington Senior Citizen's Center. In his spare time Harry loved to garden, his rose gardens were his pride, he loved to do leather work, and he and his wife spent time raising Collies years ago, but Harry was most involved with the Shriners, he volunteered at all the events held at the Allepo Temple, he was known as one of the “Craftsman” at the temple, he also spent countless hours at the Shriners Burn Institute in Boston, whether it was to drive folks, give tours of the hospital, or help in any capacity you could always count on Harry to do his best.
Harry was the beloved husband of the late Isabell (Martell), devoted father of Cheryl Weiser of Lexington, and Janice Morrison and her husband John of Medford, dear brother of Edna & Joseph Boudreau of Stoneham, Irene Harris of Wilmington, and the late Edith Boudreau, also survived by his godson John Harris.
His Service was held Monday, February 12, at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. and was celebrated by Pastor Miles Hall. Interment took place in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
