Hurley, Therese Obituary

Therese N. (Ardolino) Hurley, age 81, long-time resident of North Woburn, formerly of Wilmington, died unexpectedly,Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Lexington.

Therese was born in Boston, MA, on December 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Alessandro & Carmela Ardolino. She grew up in Somerville where she received her education. She moved to Wilmington in the early 1950’s and resided there for over 20 years before moving to Woburn in the early 1970’s. Prior to retirement, Therese, was a secretary for the Social Services Division in Woburn and the Unisys Company for many years. Therese was devoted to her family especially her grandchildren, she was there to help care for them from the time they were born and she enjoyed every minute she spent with them. Therese was a very talented gardener, she loved her flowers, she had a such green thumb and so many wonderful gardens that she was featured in the Woburn Times several years ago. Therese will be remembered for her caring ways, her devotion to children, her friendliness, and her ability to see the good in everyone and everything.

Therese was the devoted mother of Mary McEldowney & her husband Robert of Taunton, John Hurley of Marlboro, Robert Hurley of Woburn, Terry Douglass & her husband Ken and Lauren Hurley & her companion Marc Catalani all of Billerica, and the late James Hurley, loving grandmother of Joel, Aaron, & Joshua Camara, James, Matthew, Michael, Katharine, and the late Dominique Hurley, Cole & James Hurley, Jake & Kyle Douglass, Holly & Eddie Bergeron, and great-granddaughter Keira Bergeron, dear sister of James Ardolino of Everett, Jerald Ardolino and Margaret DeLeo both of Medford, Charles Ardolino of California, Ardele Morrow of Georgia, and the late Andrew Ardolino and Ethel Rego. Therese was also the former wife of the late James B. Hurley.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 19th, at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62) Wilmington, at 10:00 a.m. Interment Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Visiting hours Friday, April 18th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Memorial donations in Therese's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
