Jeffrey M. Williamson, “Jeff”, age 77, of Wilmington, passed away at home, following a lengthy illness, on September 5, 2022.
Jeff was born on August 19, 1945, in Chelsea, MA; he was the son of the late Jeanne (Hulme) Waugh and John “Jack” Williamson. Jeff was raised in Wilmington by his mom and his “Dad”, John Waugh. Jeff attended Wilmington schools and graduated in 1963. Jeff continued his education at Springfield College, graduating in 1967 with a degree in physical education.
Jeff married his loving wife, Kristine (Aker) Williamson, on November 8, 1975. They shared 47 years together with their beloved dogs, cats, and birds.
Jeff was a standout athlete; he played baseball for many years, including three years in the Baltimore Orioles Minor League System. Jeff was also a competitive speed skater and enjoyed golf, bowling, and chess. He met several friends along the way and kept life-long friendships with them.
Jeff was employed in pharmaceutical and institutional sales for several years. He later owned a local convenience store franchise and one of the first Mailboxes, Etc. in the area.
Jeff was the beloved husband of Kristine F. (Aker) Williamson, dear brother of Scott Waugh of Pepperell and Elaine Williamson of Lancaster, PA, brother-in-law of Mary Waugh of Littleton and Martin Aker of Fryeburg, Maine. Jeff is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends, including Janet Waugh of Austin, TX.
Family and friends will gather for a Graveside Service at the Wildwood Cemetery, 233 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, on Saturday, November 5th at 1:00 p.m.
Memorial donations in Jeff’s name may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
