Joseph Trio Obituary

Joseph A. Trio, “Joe”, age 77, of Wilmington, passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 3, 2022.

Joseph was born on December 1, 1944, in Messina, Sicily. He came to the U.S. in 1970, on a quick vacation, but he met and fell in love with his soulmate Connie. Married 50 years, they raised their two children in Wilmington.

Joseph was the former owner and operator of "Anchors Fish and Lobster Co." in the 90's.  He was a member of Boston's Local 22 and proud of his work around Boston, especially the "Leonard Zakim Bridge.”

Joseph enjoyed family and friends visiting his home, especially in the summer, where you can hear everyone in the backyard playing cards and Bocce while Joe cranked out homemade pizza in his brick oven.

Joseph was proud of his children and adored his four grandchildren. Joseph believed in keeping family traditions alive such as "Sunday dinner" and 7 fishes on Christmas eve.

Joseph will be deeply missed.

Joe was the beloved husband of Concetta “Connie” (Barbieri) Trio, devoted father of Pat Trio & his wife Laurene of North Reading, and Natalie Dunnirvine & her late husband Kevin of Bellingham, loving “Nonno” of Alexandra, Joseph, Jessica, and Jillian, cherished son of the late Pasquale and Natala (LaSpada) Trio, dear brother of Flavia Cambria & her husband Salvatore of Italy, the late Melina Sterrantino and the late Lucia Casella, son-in-law of Caterina Barbieri of Wilmington.  Joe was very special to his late uncle Joseph & his wife Rose-Marie Trio of Somerville, his late aunt Maria Mazzeo, and his cousin Sarah Pino & her late husband Ione.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Friday, October 7th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA, at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.  Visiting Hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, October 6th from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
