Philip "Phil" Leduc, 88 years of age, formerly of Wilmington passed away at Woodbriar of Wilmington on Saturday, December 29, 2007 after a brief illness. Born in Fulton, New York, on January 13, 1919, Phil was son of the late Dalvida and Marie (Laflamme) Leduc.
As a Veteran of WWII, Mr. Leduc was a member of the 246th Infantry Regiment, 66th Division, in the Southern France Campaign where he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. He received his Honorable Discharge from Fort Devens on April 18, 1946. Mr. Leduc was a Life Member of "The Veterans Of Foreign Wars" Post 2458, where he served as Commander in 1955.
Philip was the beloved husband of 52 years to the late Concetta (Manzelli) Leduc. "Phil" and "Connie" moved to Wilmington in June of 1951 where he would live for the next 56 years. He founded Wilmington Press, Inc., in Wilmington Center and in 1969, moved to Lucci's Shopping Plaza as Wilmington Office Supply and finally Leduc's Card & Gift.
Mr. Leduc is survived by his daughter Elaine DiMaggio and her husband Dan and their children Michael, Mark and Melissa of Duluth, Georgia, as well as his son Daniel Leduc and his wife Kathleen and their daughter Lian of Wilmington, and his many nieces and nephews. Mr. Leduc was also brother of the late Wilfred, Rudolph, Laura, and Florida.
Funeral services for Mr. Leduc were held at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62) Wilmington on Monday, December 31st at 11:30 a.m. and were celebrated by Rev. Travis Bonnette-Kim from the Wilmington United Methodist Church. Interment took place in the family lot as Wildwood Cemetery.
