Obituary

Lorraine A. Brodie (Budryk), age 80, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2023, in Wilmington, where she had lived for many years.

Lorraine was born on July 3, 1942, in Malden, MA, and was the daughter of the late Stanley and Ann (Troisi) Budryk. She grew up in Medford, MA, and graduated from Medford High School in 1959.

Lorraine began her career as a hairdresser and later became a Certified Nurse Assistant after completing her education with The American Red Cross. She worked at Bear Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stoneham, where she was known for her kindness, compassion, and great personality. Lorraine had a close relationship with her co-workers and patients and considered them extended family.

In 1968, Lorraine married Robert "Bob" Brodie, the love of her life, and moved to Wilmington in 1971, where they raised their two daughters, Marlene and Erica. Lorraine was a devoted and loving mother who cherished spending time with her family and creating lasting memories. She was also an incredible grandmother who enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren whenever she could.

After retiring, Lorraine spent much of her time caring for her grandchildren and attending their school and sporting events. She also frequented the Wilmington Senior Center, where she participated in various activities and crocheted beautiful afghans for veterans.

Lorraine will always be remembered for her unwavering love for family and friends, her kind heart, and her generosity towards others. She was truly one of a kind, and her memory will live on forever in the hearts of those she touched.

Lorraine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert C. Brodie, in 1991. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Marlene King and her husband Larry of Tyngsboro, formerly of North Billerica, and Erica Brodie of Wilmington. She was also the loving "Grandma" of Heather, Adam, Amanda, Alex, Brodie, Carter, and great-grandchildren Peyton and Mason. Lorraine was the dear sister of Stanley Budryk and his wife Liz of Lynnfield.

Family and friends are invited to gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Monday, April 24th, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, followed by a Service to Celebrate Lorraine's life at 12:00 noon.
