Ruth E. (Baldwin) Lynch, age 89, formerly of Wilmington, who resided with her daughter and son-in-law in Dracut, died peacefully on July 11, 2008, surrounded by her family following a brief illness.
Ruth was born on July 16, 1918, in Everett, MA, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. & Gertrude E. (Shuster) Baldwin. Ruth grew up in Everett and attended the Immaculate Conception School for eight years. Her family moved to Wilmington in the early 1930’s and Ruth continued her education in Wilmington, she graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1936. Following high school Ruth attended Business School in Boston. Prior to having her own family Ruth was employed for New England Tel & Tel in Boston for many years. Ruth married Paul J. Lynch, Sr., on February 14, 1943, and they were married for 59 years until his passing on October 9, 2002. Ruth & Paul lived in Wilmington for many years and had resided in Dracut with their daughter & son-in-law since 2000. Ruth was very devoted to her family and they will miss her dearly.
Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Retired Wilmington Police Chief Paul J. Lynch, Sr., devoted mother of Kevin C. Lynch of Methuen, Marlene & her husband Richard Russo of Dracut, and the late Paul J. Lynch, Jr., loving grandmother of four granddaughters Marissa Trudeau & her husband Jarrod, Allison Lynch, Amanda & Alicia Russo, and great-granddaughter Calley Trudeau, dear sister of Frances A. Nolan, Marie T. O'Connell, and the late Dorothy H. Baldwin & Charles J. Baldwin all of Wilmington, Ruth is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large extended family.
Her Funeral will be held from the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Wednesday, July 16th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Dorothy's Church, Main St. (Rte. 38), Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours Tuesday, July 15th from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
