Maloney, Dianne Obituary

Dianne F. (Morrison) Maloney, age 75, of Wilmington, died Monday, November 17, 2008, at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading following a brief illness.

Born in Boston, MA, on October 1, 1933, she was the only child of the late Frank D. & Louise (Day) Morrison. Dianne was raised in Arlington, MA and was a graduate of Arlington High School. Dianne went on to attend Chandler School for Girls to study business and she graduated from Middlesex Community College with an Associates Degree in Business. Prior to retirement Dianne was a Purchasing Agent for Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge for many years.

Dianne moved with her family to Wilmington 17 years ago and became very involved in the community. She was a member of the Wilmington Senior Center where she loved to volunteer for the meals on wheels program, and enjoyed being involved in the many activities at the center. Dianne was also a volunteer at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington for many years. Dianne loved to travel and will be remembered for her love of people, she was the kind of person who had a friend or made a friend where ever she went, she shared her love with everyone especially her family and her many friends. Dianne will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Dianne was the beloved mother of Thomas S. Maloney, Jr. & his wife Teresa of Woburn, Gary F. Maloney and Judith A. Maloney both of Concord, NH, Richard C. Maloney of Sarasota, FL, Cynthia L. DeCerbo & her husband Christopher of Vista, CA, and Lori J. Lodato & her husband Frank of Wilmington, loving grandmother of Molly, Anna, Anthony, Rebecca, Samantha, Glenn, Alex, Julie, and great-grandchildren Kya and Mason.

Her Funeral will take place from the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Saturday, November 22nd at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Visiting hours will be on Friday, November 21st from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Memorial donations in Dianne’s name may be made to the Sawtelle Family Hospice House, 320 Haverhill St., Reading, MA 01867.
