Marr, Ruby

Ruby J. (Gross) Marr, of Manchester, NH, formerly of Wilmington, died Sunday, December 14, 2008, at the Elliott Hospital in Manchester, NH, following a brief illness.

Ruby was the beloved wife of the late Alexander F. Marr, with whom she celebrated 41 years of marriage prior to his passing in 1984, Ruby was the devoted mother of Julia (Marr) Cavanaugh & her husband Greg of Manchester, NH, and the late Owen A. Marr, mother-in-law of Cheryl Marr of Atkinson, NH, and the loving grandmother of Peter & Jon Marr, Shaun & Joshua Cronin, and Brian Parsons.

Born in Boston, MA, on March 25, 1921, Ruby was the daughter of the late Herschel M. and Julia (Smith) Gross.

Ruby was a Wilmington resident for over 40 years and a member of the Wilmington Women's Club. She moved to Manchester, NH, several years ago to be closer to her family.

Ruby will be remembered for her devotion to her family and for her love of cooking that she shared with her family and friends.

Funeral services for Ruby were held on Wednesday, December 17th at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington. Interment took place in Wildwood Cemetery.
