Mary Theresa (Doherty) Brackett

Mary Theresa Brackett (Doherty), age 84, of Wilmington, MA and Meredith, NH, formerly of Arlington, MA, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2022. 

Mary was the beloved wife of 57 years to John T. Brackett, devoted mother of Kerry Brackett formerly of Wilmington, Keith Brackett of Billerica and Kimberly Jezak & her husband Stephen of Windham, NH.  Loving "Grammie" of Ellie, Brady, Felicity and Kasey Jezak.  Cherished daughter of the late James and Mary T. (Henry) Doherty, dear sister of James Doherty & his wife Cecilia, Joan Lee & her husband William, Robert Doherty & his wife Cynthia, and the late Margaret Marchand, and dear sister-in-law of Nancy Brackett Marchand and her husband Raymond. Mary is also survived by many special cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.

 
Before building their family together Mary helped her husband build their cherished summer cottage and enjoyed spending time there with her children and grandchildren. Mary's family was always her priority; she showered them with unconditional love and devotion and was always so proud of their many accomplishments.

Over the years Mary’s hobbies included collectibles, gardening, woodworking, movies, reading and photographing covered bridges, waterfalls and lighthouses all over New England with her husband. Mary was a woman of great faith and an active parishioner in St. Dorothy’s parish, where she volunteered as a religious education teacher, a member of the Ladies Sodality, and actively helped in their many fundraisers. As a young woman, Mary was very involved in underprivileged youth programs in Boston. Mary worked for many years as an office manager for companies such as Raytheon and Wang Laboratories.

Mary will be fondly remembered as a beautiful lady "inside and out"; she freely gave of her time and talents to help anyone in need.  Mary's kind spirit and beautiful soul left an imprint on everyone she met; she will forever live in the hearts of those she touched.
 
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Tuesday, July 19th from 5:00-8:00 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will take place on Wednesday, July 20th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Dorothy's Church, Main St. (Rte. 38), Wilmington, MA, followed by interment in Newton Cemetery, Newton, MA.
