Moran, Roberta Obituary

Roberta A. “Berta” (Tedford) Moran, age 59, of Tewksbury, formerly of Medway, Maine, died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at home surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born December 4, 1949, Berta was the beloved daughter of Norma O. (Allen) & the late Allen R. Tedford of Medway, ME. Roberta grew up in Maine, was a graduate of Schenck High School Class of 1969 and went on to receive a degree in Cosmetology from D'Lors Beauty School. Roberta moved to Tewksbury over 20 years ago and continued her education by taking accounting and bookkeeping classes at the Shawsheen Valley Regional Tech in Billerica.

Roberta was employed as a bookkeeper at the General Aluminum Company for many years before her illness forced her to retire. In her spare time Roberta enjoyed gardening, camping, traveling, crocheting, doing puzzles, and she was an avid reader.

Roberta will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a “people person”, she was very endearing to those around her as well as strangers, she made friends easily and was very giving of herself, there wasn't anything she wouldn't for others. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

Besides her mother, Roberta is survived by her love and life Partner Bruce A. Killam of Tewksbury, her brothers & sisters Patricia Ammons & her husband Richard of Shelton, WA, Gail Trueworthy & her husband David, Gloria Barker & Jim Dow, Brian Tedford, Richard Tedford, Ronald Tedford & his wife Lynda, and Joseph Tedford & his wife Diane all of Medway, ME, Roberta is also survived by Bill & Carol Killam of Florida, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many special friends.

Funeral services for Roberta will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations in her name may be made to the Lahey Clinic, Philanthropy Office, 41 Mall Road, Burlington, MA 01805 or to the VNA of Middlesex-East Hospice, 607 North ave., Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880.
