Nora Gracia Obituary

Nora Patricia Gracia (McLoughlin), fondly known as "Pat" or "Patsy", to her family and friends, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 13, 2023.

Pat was born on March 20, 1930, in Waltham, MA; she was the dear daughter of Martin and Kathleen (Walsh) McLoughlin.  Pat was raised in a large and loving Irish Catholic family; she was one of ten siblings consisting of nine girls and one boy who had a lot of fun growing up.  Pat was raised and educated in Dorchester, MA; she attended Parochial School and was a graduate of St. Margaret's Girls Catholic School.

Pat married "her sweetheart" Frank Gracia on April 21, 1956; the couple shared over 55 years of marriage, raised a beautiful family and had many great times together before his passing in December of 2011.  Pat and Frank lived in the city for several years before moving "up country" to Wilmington in 1968.  Pat made a wonderful home in Wilmington where she raised five children; her door was always open to family, friends and neighbors throughout the years.  Pat was a devoted wife and mother who always showered her family with love and affection.  Pat's favorite role came later in life when she welcomed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she adored them all and spoiled them every chance she got.  Pat was so proud of her family and of all of their accomplishments; they were "her world".

Pat enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.  Pat looked forward to family vacations to Cape Cod every summer, her many tropical trips with Betty and Bill, and her memorable excursion to Ireland with her sisters where they got to see where their parents came from and meet many relatives.

Pat loved music of all kinds, but she especially loved her Irish music.  Pat was a member of the Sweet Adeline's Choral group who performed all over and brought so much joy to others through music.

Pat will be fondly remembered as a wonderful lady and a great friend; she was proud of her Irish Heritage, and she was a "Dorchester girl" at heart.  Pat loved her family and friends unconditionally; she was kind, caring and went out of her way to help everyone.  Pat will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Pat was the beloved wife of the late Frank J. Gracia, she was the devoted mother of Paul M. Gracia and his partner Kim Richardson of Chester, NH, Michael J. Gracia and his wife Julie of Wilmington, Thomas F. Gracia and his wife Sandra Lee of Tewksbury, Susan P. Davidson and her husband Bruce of Wilmington and Nancy E. McMahon and her husband William of Wilmington.  She was the loving "Grammy" of Lindsay Gracia, Kyle Gracia and his wife Marie, Michael Gracia and his partner Tori, Teresa Gracia, Daniel Gracia, Kayla Davidson and her fiancé Cam, Jonathan Davidson, Jillian Davidson and her fiancé Mitchell, Kelli Ruggiero and her husband D.J., Meghan McMahon and her great-grandchildren Cooper and Hailey Ruggiero and Brayden Gracia.  She was the dear sister of Helen Orzuchowski of New York, Martin Thomas McLoughlin and his wife Susan of Quincy, Lill McLoughlin of Randolph, the late Mary MacKay, Nancy Bessette, Catherine "Kay" McRudin, Elizabeth "Betty" Svirsky, Johan McLoughlin, and Josie Hughes.  Pat is further survived by many nieces, nephews and their families.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Monday, March 20th at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA, at 11:30 a.m.  Interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA.  Visiting Hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday, March 19th from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
