Norman James Fryar, of Dracut, MA, a long-time native of Newton, MA, passed away surrounded by his family on September 5, 2023, at the age of 69. Raised and educated in Newton, MA.
Norman was born on April 27, 1954, in Newton, MA; he was the dear son of the late Arthur and Anna (Mancuso) Fryar.
Norman married the “love of his life” Donna Nourse on May 23, 1975; the couple lived in Newton for many years where they raised a beautiful family and shared many wonderful times together. Norman was a devoted family man; he always wanted to get together with the family and spend quality time together laughing, playing games like cards, playing pool or horseshoes, eating good food, and making great memories together.
Norman also very much enjoyed spending time with all of his fur babies; Banjo, Loretta, Princess, and Rocky who miss him greatly already.
Norman worked hard throughout his life; at the time of his death, he was still working at the DPW for the City of Newton. Norman was a dedicated worker for more than 38 years and made many great friends with his co-workers throughout the years.
Norman will be fondly remembered as a kind, strong, selfless, and stubborn man. He was always willing to help others; he was very resourceful and if he didn’t know how to do something he would always know who to turn to and delegate the project and get it done. Norman was always levelheaded and a great peacekeeper for everyone.
Norman loved cruising around in his mustang with the top down and oldies music blasting. When not cruising, he was most times found with a Michelob Ultra in his hand, they were his beer of choice. Norman had a huge heart, and his laugh was contagious, if he was laughing everyone else was too.
Norman will be remembered as a “great guy” who touched so many people throughout his life; he will forever be loved and missed by all.
