Ann B. (Smith) O’Connell, age 79, of Wilmington, formerly of Lowell, died Sunday, February 10, 2008, at the Wilmington Healthcare Center following a lengthy illness. Ann was born November 21, 1928, in Everett, MA, she was the daughter of the late August and Bertha (Vorderer) Smith.
Ann grew up in the Wilmington area, she then moved to Lowell where she lived for over 25 years and was employed as a School Bus Driver for the city. She returned to Wilmington several years ago where she resided until her death. In her spare time Ann enjoyed arts and crafts and she was a talented home decorator. Ann also enjoyed spending time with her family, they will miss her dearly.
She was the beloved wife of Charles P. O'Connell of Wilmington, the devoted mother of Brian Mohr & his wife Terry of Tyngsboro, Karen Lahaire of Florida, Donna Mercier, Jean Paul "JP" Ouellette and Steven Ouellette all of Lowell, and the late Debbie Jean Ouellette, loving grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, dear sister of Virginia Drohan of Wilmington. Ann is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Wednesday, February 13th at 11:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery. Visiting hours on Tuesday, February 12th from 4-7 p.m.
