Raffealla Campbell Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that our family must announce that our beloved Raffealla Kimberly Campbell, “Raffe”, age 22, of Leavenworth, KS, passed away unexpectedly on December 29, 2023, from a brain aneurysm at her home in Pensacola, FL.

The Campbell family would like to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers.  They have helped tremendously.  It is difficult to respond to all the calls and texts.  Please forgive us for not responding to all.  Just know it means so much to us.

Raffe was born on January 7, 2001, in Concord, MA.  She was the cherished daughter of Peter and Renate Campbell.  As a young girl, Raffe’s family moved to Kansas, where her dad, Peter, was stationed as a Lt. Colonel with the United States Army.

Following graduation from Leavenworth High School, Raffe enrolled in Colorado Mesa University, where she was studying to become a nurse.  Raffe also earned her Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certificate and worked at many nursing homes taking care of the elderly.  She had such a kind soul and was passionate about her work.

Raffe was full of life, a true free spirit who loved time spent in nature and a love of all animals.  In 2022, she moved to Pensacola, FL so she could be closer to the ocean.  She was most happy going for dips in the ocean, even in the winter.  Raffe also loved walking on the beach, collecting seashells, and digging her feet in the sand.

Her independent spirit led her through many travel adventures. Some of her favorites included Moab National Park in Utah, California, Cancun, and time spent with family in Massachusetts.

By 4th grade, Raffe was already a talented pianist and gifted artist. She composed songs of her own, and our home is full of beautiful paintings that she created.  Raffe was also a natural athlete and excelled at gymnastics and competitive cheering.  She was a beautiful girl inside and out with a smile that 'lit up a room' and a heart of gold.  Although her life was far too brief, the memory of her will live on forever in the hearts and minds of everyone who was lucky enough to know her.

Raffealla was the cherished daughter of Lt. Colonel Ret. Peter and Renate Campbell, dear sister of Alois Campbell and Joseph Campbell, loving granddaughter of the late James & Antoinette Campbell from her father’s side, and Alois Stierstorfer from her mother’s side, special goddaughter of the late Aunt Nernie, niece of the late Major Leo Campbell and his wife Kathleen, Dorothy Campbell and Howard Coombs, COL Ret. Dr. John Campbell and his wife Tish, the late Madeleine Campbell, SSGT Ret. Paul Campbell and his wife Cindy, Marianne Smith and her husband Mort, Marjorie Campbell and her late husband Rob Bartlett, and Jennifer Martin and her husband Chris; cousins Megan Malloy and her fiancée Jim Grennan, Emeric Malloy, Jamie Campbell, Colleen and Trevor Kelly, Andrew and Jodi Campbell, Katelin and Kyle Haver, Kristine and Andrew Sawyer, Patrick and Skylar Campbell, Matthew and Hannah Campbell, Daniel Campbell, Michelle Steen, Debbie Steen, Maryanne Steen, Erin Warford, Michael Warford, Toni Smith, Charlotte Smith and Virginia Smith.  Raffe is also survived by many loving little cousins, as well as her dear friends, Maddie, Savannah, Dakota, Gabby, Angie, Jess and many extended friends; local Kansas neighbors and friends who watched Raffe grow up, Mike and Georgia Wooten.

Raffe will be laid to rest privately. The family plans to come home to Boston for Thanksgiving in 2024 and will celebrate her life and memory at that time.

We ask you to remember Raffe in your prayers, and cherish the moments you have with your family, friends, and loved ones.
