Obituary

Richard “Louise” Paatan Bagayao, age 53, of Wilmington, MA, passed away peacefully on September 14th, 2023, strong and courageous to the end, surrounded by his loving family including those around the world.

The dear son of the late Engineer Richard (d. 1980) and Francisca Paatan Bagayao (d. 1986), Richard was born in Bontoc, Mountain Province, Philippines, on September 13, 1970. Richard married his sweetheart, Julie, on 16 April 1994, and the couple had two beautiful children, Confrey and Dishan. He immigrated to the United States in March 2003 and settled in Wilmington in December 2005.

Richard was a man of great faith, compassion, and humility, and he touched the lives of people wherever he went. He lived a life of service to others, and he was very involved with various BIBAK organizations and with St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Wilmington for many years. He made many great friends in both. Richard will always be remembered for his passion for helping others, his love of music and his sense of humor.

Richard was the beloved husband of Julie Margarette Beang Bagayao, devoted father of Confrey and Dishan Bagayao, all of Wilmington. He was the dear brother of Florence “Yapeng” Egsaen (Francis), Warren “Ducayag” (Kathlene) and Dolores “Michelle”. Richard is further survived by a large and loving extended family as well as many caring friends.

Richard’s deep integrity and commitment to excellence showed through in his career as a teacher at Baguio Colleges Foundation, Baguio City, Philippines and as a Radiology Technician at Faulkner Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts.
