Richard MacDonald Obituary

Richard M. MacDonald, "Rich", age 32, of Newburyport, formerly of Malden and Billerica, passed away unexpectedly at home on May 10, 2023.

Rich was born on March 2, 1991, in Melrose, MA; he was the dear son of the late Sharon (Kuczynski) and Richard "Rick" MacDonald.  Rich spent his early years in Malden, MA, before moving to Billerica; he attended Billerica public schools as a young boy and went on to graduate from Shawsheen Technical High School with the Class of 2009.

Rich loved to be around his friends, listening to his favorite band "A Day to Remember".  He would always have music playing even when he went to sleep.  Rich loved sports, especially football; every season he would spend hours playing fantasy football with his friends.  When he was not watching sports he would be up for any adventure you could think of up to and including singing and dancing to his favorite musicals.

Rich could always be found at the gym when he was not having a family dinner or heading up to his close friend Ally's house in New Hampshire, or having heart to heart talks with his loved ones that could go all night.

Rich had an endearing personality, a great sense of humor and a huge heart; he loved to laugh and just act goofy.  Rich was never afraid to show his emotions and was always there to lend a shoulder to cry on whenever needed.  Rich's unconditional love for his family and friends was evident to all who knew him; he had an infectious smile and was so kind to everyone.  Rich's sudden passing has left such a void in the hearts of those he touched; he will be forever loved and missed by all.

Rich was the beloved son of Richard "Rick" MacDonald and the late Sharon (Kuczynski) MacDonald, dear brother of Jason Kuczynski of Boston, Christine Curtin and her husband James Brown of Methuen, and Scott MacDonald of Charlestown.  He was the loving Uncle of Stephanie McPhee, Jeremiah Brown, Dominic Brown, and Great-Uncle of Annabelle, Mia, and Leo.  Rich truly loved and was loved by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and amazing friends.
