Robert S. "Bob" Noel Obituary

Robert S. Noel, “Bob”, age 70, of Tewksbury, formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023, with his family at his side.

Bob was born in Everett, MA, on November 5, 1953; he was the cherished son of the late Larry and Dot Noel. Bob was raised and educated in Wilmington and was a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1972.  Throughout his life, Bob loved to play sports; as a young kid he was into pop warner football, little league baseball and basketball; he went on to play sports for the Wilmington Wildcat High School teams as well.  Bob had an outgoing personality and made many life-long friends growing up.

Bob was very dedicated to his family; he was a wonderful son to his parents, a great brother to his siblings, a dedicated dad to his children, and the most loving "Papa" any grandchild could ask for.  Bob's role as a dad was one he took seriously; his children Bonnie and Nick were the center of his world.  Bob was always there to participate and cheer them on at countless school and sporting events.  Bob took pride in coaching his son Nick's sports; they loved to watch sporting events together and enjoyed just "hanging out" and going fishing.  Bob's daughter Bonnie was definitely "daddy's girl" and there wasn't anything he wouldn't do to make her happy.  When Bob became Papa his world got even brighter; Bob looked forward to babysitting, sharing special events and holidays with the grandkids, and playing Santa was also so special.  Bob beamed with pride as he spoke of his family and the love they shared was evident in everything he did.

Bob worked hard throughout his life; for many years he worked in the maintenance department at the Senior Center in Tewksbury.  Bob was wonderful to the seniors; his endearing personality along with his kindness, compassion and willingness to help made him a friend to many.

Outside of work, Bob, was "huge" into playing softball for many teams throughout the years, he also enjoyed a competitive game of horseshoes and could be viewed as a natural when it came to playing pool.  Bob was a member of the Tewksbury Wilmington Lodge of Elks for many years; he was always willing to lend a hand and could often be found  at the grills cooking up a storm during their annual cookouts in the Elks Grove.

Bob will be fondly remembered for his unconditional love and devotion to his family and friends; he loved kids and animals and was always very kind to everyone.  Bob had a billowing personality, a great laugh, and a huge heart; he will forever be loved by all who knew him.

Bob was the devoted father of Bonnie Mounsey and her husband Rich of Wilmington and Nick Noel and his girlfriend Erica Carfango of Tewksbury.  Loving “Papa” of Benjamin, Mia, Jaclyn, Richie, and Cole.  Cherished son of the late Lawrence “Larry” and Dorothy (Stowe) Noel, dear brother of the late Ray Noel and Karen Noel.  Bob is further survived by his extended family and many friends.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Monday, November 20th from 4:00-7:00 p.m.  A Service to Celebrate Bob’s life will take place on Tuesday, November 21st at 12:30 p.m. in the Wilmington United Methodist Church, 87 Church St., Wilmington, MA.  Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA.
