Rothwell, Stephen

Stephen J. Rothwell, age 57, formerly of Wilmington, died Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Woburn, MA, on May 9, 1951, he was the beloved son of Gloria A. (Bonnarigo) & the late Edward R. Rothwell, formerly of Wilmington. Stephen was a long-time resident of Wilmington and attended Wilmington Public Schools. He served in the United States Marines during the early 1970’s. Stephen was a welder by trade and prior to his illness worked for several construction companies.

Stephen was the dear brother of Paul J. Rothwell and Anne Rothwell both of Salem, Richard Rothwell of Methuen, Mary F. McCuish of Billerica, and the late Thomas E. Rothwell & David M. Rothwell, Stephen is also survived by several nieces & nephews.

His Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington on Friday, November 14th at 11:00 a.m. Visiting hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Thursday, November 13th from 7-9 p.m.
