Roy E. MacKenzie, age 63, of Wilmington, died Saturday, April 7, at his home.
Roy was born December 6, 1943, in Newton, MA, he was the son of the late Gordon & Harriet (Brown) MacKenzie. Roy grew up in Wilmington, graduated Wilmington High School, and was drafted into the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he received the Bronze Star. Upon completion of his military service, Roy returned to Wilmington and founded Ralmac Forms Construction Company which he ran for many years. Following retirement Roy worked for MacKenzie Forms Company which is owned by his son Scot.
Roy was the beloved father of Scot MacKenzie & his wife Lisa, and Jodi MacKenzie, grandfather of Kelci & Lily MacKenzie all of Wilmington, brother of Teddy MacKenzie of New Hampshire, Tommy MacKenzie & his wife Nancy and George MacKenzie all of Wilmington, Bobby MacKenzie of Tewksbury, Betty Hogan & Jeanie MacKenzie both of California, and the late Gordie MacKenzie, Dotty Paggi, & Barbara Ahern, former husband of Lois J. (Del Ninno) MacKenzie of Wilmington, also survived by many nieces & nephews.
His services were held from the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Wednesday, April 11, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Dorothy's Church. Interment took place in Wildwood Cemetery.
