Susan Junek Obituary

Susan J. Junek (Anderson), fondly known as "Sue" to family and friends, of Pepperell, MA, formerly of Woburn, MA, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2023.

Sue was born in Somerville, MA, on September 25, 1961; she was the cherished daughter of the late Ernest W. and Mary A. (O'Neil) Anderson.  Sue was raised and educated in Woburn and a graduate of Woburn High School with the Class of 1979.

Sue was always a "go getter" when it came to working; following graduation from high school she worked for the cable company for several years before heading into the accounting field and taking on positions in several accounting roles throughout her career.

Sue married her sweetheart and best friend, Dan Junek on August 6, 1993; the couple made their home in Pepperell, MA, where they raised two beautiful children.  Sue was a loving and devoted mother to Olivia and Luke; she was always there to give them a hand, lend an ear, help with homework, or attend countless school and sporting events.  Sue always encouraged her children to do their best, work hard, be kind, and try new and exciting things.  Sue just adored her family and they made many wonderful memories together throughout the years.

Sue also had a deep affection for animals especially horses; they had a special place in her heart.  Sue not only learned to ride but she excelled and earned a reputation as an accomplished equestrian; something she was very proud of.

Sue will be fondly remembered for her beautiful smile, her fun loving personality, and her sense of adventure which endeared her to her family and friends alike.  Sue showered others with kindness, compassion, and the willingness to help anyone in need; she truly had a huge heart and a beautiful soul.  She will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Sue was the beloved wife of Daniel Junek, loving mother of Olivia and Luke Junek all of Pepperell, MA, dear sister of Steven Anderson of Haverhill, MA, Bob Anderson and his wife Betsy of Hollis, NH, and Linda Anderson of Parker, CO, all originally from Woburn, MA. Dear daughter-in-law of Dolly and the late Josef Junek of Wilmington, MA, sister-in-law of John Junek of Lakeland, FL and Ruth Wheeler of Casa Grande, AZ.  Sue is further survived by her extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Thursday, May 4th from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, May 6th in St. Barbara's Parish, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn, MA, at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn, MA.
