Temple, Dorothy Obituary

Dorothy E. (Parkhurst) (Nally) Temple, 95, of Wilmington, died Monday, February 4, 2008, at Woodbriar of Wilmington. Mrs. Temple was born October 17, 1912, in Newton, MA; she was the daughter of the late Chester A. And Hattie L. (Ward) Parkhurst. Dorothy was brought up in Newton, where she was also educated. She moved to Wilmington in 1953, where she resided until her death. Dorothy worked for many years at Raytheon in Waltham and retired after working for 25 years at Charles River Laboratories in Wilmington. In her younger years Dorothy enjoyed skiing, ice skating, and she was an avid swimmer. Her hobbies also included knitting; she especially enjoyed making baby afghans . Dorothy was a member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church, Wilmington Senior Citizens Center, and the A. I. M. Group. Dorothy was very devoted to her family and she especially loved her visits with her great-grandchildren; they will miss her dearly.

Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late William M. Temple, devoted mother of Retired Wilmington Police Chief Bernard P. Nally of Wilmington, William M. Temple, Jr., Alan R. Temple, and Gary D. Temple all of Salem, NH, loving grandmother of David M. Nally & his wife Ruth of Wakefield, Cynthia L. (Nally) Leverone & her husband David of Rumney, NH, Heather M. (Nally) Urban & her husband John of Chelmsford, Deanna L. Nally of Andover, Patrick B. Nally & his wife Christine of Wilmington, Tara M. Temple, Gary D. Temple, and Bryan S. Temple all of Manchester, NH, great-grandmother of Joseph B. Leverone, Brendan J. & Brittany J. Urban, Parker D. Nally, Dean P. & Rachel A. Nally, she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dorothy was also mother-in-law of the late Texann Nally and sister of the late Edwin A., Frederick, W., Harold W., Chester A., and Robert W. Parkhurst, Edith V. Reynolds, Myrtle O. McKelvey, and Marion G. Stiles.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 8th at the Wilmington United Methodist Church, 87 Church St., Wilmington, at 10:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery. Visiting hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, on Thursday, February 7th from 4-8 p.m. Memorial donations in Dorothy's name may be made to the A.I.M. Group, c/o Judy DiPalma, 12 Harold Ave., Wilmington, MA 01887.
