Virginia P. (Heath) Young

Virginia P. Young, “Ginger”, age 94, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed into the arms of Jesus on September 9, 2022.

Ginger was born on August 11, 1928, in Haverhill, MA; she was the cherished daughter of the late Leslie and Fern (Pearson) Heath.  Ginger was raised in Stoneham and graduated from Stoneham High School.  She spent one year at Mass School of Art.

Ginger had a smile that lit up a room and loved with an unconditional love.  She especially loved her family and never missed a chance to give and get hugs.  Ginger also loved her Lord and Savior. Up until the very end she could recite numerous Bible verses and sing countless hymns. 

Not only was Ginger a devoted Wife, wonderful Mother, and loving Grandmother and Great Grammy, she was a selfless friend, caregiver and Spirit filled prayer warrior.  She enjoyed playing cards and scrabble and loved painting and gardening.

She will be missed by many. We rejoice in knowing that she is now healed and singing praises to our God, reunited with her husband, daughter, great granddaughter and so many others that have gone before her.  Her greatest joy was her faith and certainty that our family would be reunited again in Heaven because, as she always said, "we are forever family". 

Ginger was the beloved wife of the late Donald P. Young, devoted mother of the late Edith Norton & her husband Norman of Stoneham, Janet Marshall & her husband Gary of  Hampstead, NH, and Barbara Stanga & her husband John of Harrisburg, North Carolina, loving “Grammy” of Krista, Andrew, Daniel, Katie, and Beth, “Grammy Ginger” of Rebekah, Sarah, Hannah, Ethan, Emma, Liam, Henry, Clementine, Micah, Caleb, Levi, Josephine, and the late Aubrielle, dear sister of the late Hazel Lathurus & her late husband Costas, special aunt of Charlotte Montanez.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Avenue, (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Friday, September 23rd from 10:00-11:30 a.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m.  Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
