Woodside, Martha Obituary

Martha L. (Lloyd) Woodside, age 90, of Wilmington, died Saturday, January 12, 2008, at the Woburn Nursing Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Woodside was born November 3, 1917, in Billerica, MA; she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Wackwell) Lloyd. Martha was raised in Billerica and educated there. She moved to Wilmington in 1938 with her husband Ernest, and she resided there until her death.

Martha was a dedicated wife and mother, she loved her home, and she devoted her life to taking care of her family and many others. She took in, cared for, and loved over 100 foster children in the state of Massachusetts. In her spare time, Martha loved to knit, crochet, and sew. Martha was also loved her religion, she was a member of the Forest Street Congregational Church, Wilmington Congregational Church, and the Community Congregational Church in Billerica. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Women's group, and a Past Worthy Matron of Rainbow.

Martha was the beloved wife of the late Ernest Woodside, devoted mother of Neil Woodside & his wife Rita Anne of Wilmington, and Ernest Woodside & his wife Dorna of Derry, NH, her foster daughters Judy Fraser of Conyers, GA, and Aldene Magee of Halifax, MA, loving grandmother of Tara Lee, Robbie, Cheryl Anne, Christine Anne, Shelley Lee and Lisa Lee, great-grandmother of Melissa and Brandon, and dear sister of Sunny Lloyd of Wilmington.

Her Funeral Service will be held at the Community Congregational Church, 803 Boston Road, Billerica on Friday, January 18th , at 10:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial donation's in Martha's name made be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, 5005 LBJ Fwy, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244.
