Yentile, Samuel Obituary

Samuel B. Yentile, an 87 year resident of Wilmington, died on Monday, April 7, 2008, at his home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Yentile was born 89 years ago on January 21, 1919, in Arlington, MA. He was the son of the late Rocco and Rose (Agostino) Yentile. Samuel moved to Wilmington at the age of two with his family. They started the Yentile Farm which is a local landmark. Sam and his family were very devoted to the farm; Sam worked the farm most of his life. Sam attended Wilmington Schools and following High School he worked as an Auto Mechanic for Fred F. Cain Company and Clark Motors for many years prior to his retirement in 1980. Sam was known to his family and friends as “Mr. Fix It”, he could fix anything, especially clocks and lawn tractors. Sam was a very gentle man who was devoted to his late wife, his family, and the family farm. He will be greatly missed.

Samuel was the beloved husband of the late Helen D. (Hammond) Yentile for 57 years prior to her passing in 1999. He was the devoted father of Lorraine Stickney of Wilmington, James Yentile & his wife Jean of Wakefield, and Tom Yentile & his wife Nancy of Wilmington, loving grandfather of Brian Stickney, Michelle Taylor, Kristi Fowler, Courtney Fahey, Michael Yentile, Justin Yentile, Julie Yentile, and great-grandchildren Kacey & Samuel Taylor, Dylan & Brooke Fahey, and Ryan Fowler. Dear brother of Vincent Yentile, Rocco Yentile, and Viola Webb all of Wilmington, Terry Garey of North Reading, and the late Joseph and Frank Yentile. Sam is also survived by many nieces & nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 10th, 10:00 a.m. at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 9th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Memorial donations in Samuel's name may be made to VNA of Middlesex East & Visiting Nurse Hospice, 607 North Ave., Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880.
